Bio

 

 

Qinghe XIAO(肖清和), now an associate professor with tenured in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Peking University, received his B.A. in philosophy from Peking University in 2003 and continued his graduate studies in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the same University. In 2005, he attended the joint program of Ph.D. between Peking University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. degrees both from Peking University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009. In 2009, he joined the Department of History at Shanghai University. From 2019 to 2021, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of History at Penn State University. His research focuses on Chinese Catholic communities and groups during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. His current research is on the key concepts and thoughts of Christianity in China, the collection and study of Sino-Christian texts, and the interaction between western learning and society in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. He has published nearly seventy scholarly articles on Chinese Catholicism in Chinese and in English.
